Katherine Downey Miller
Katherine Downey Miller is a painter and educator. She received her BS From Skidmore College in Studio Art and minored in Art History and her MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Art’s Illustration as Visual Essay Program in NYC. She works in the genre of Landscape to Abstraction. Katherine was a TA at Anderson Ranch Art Center in Snowmass, CO assisting many well known artists and then received a teaching scholarship from SACI in Florence, Italy where she was a TA in painting. She has had solo exhibits and been included in many juried exhibits throughout New England. Currently, Katherine is teaching at Concord Art in Concord, MA, the New Art Center in Newtonville, MA, the Artist Association of Nantucket on Nantucket Island and the Island Center for the Arts in Skopelos, Greece and leads private workshops out of her home as well. She has had residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and received grants from Mass Moca’s Assets for Artists and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
